This place has insanely good seafood. Shame they don't have better rankings on yelp because they deserve it -- see Peace River Seafood & Crab Shack on yelp for fuller reviews. So much fresh and delicious seafood for a good price. A half dozen crabs, dozen oysters, dozen clams, dozen shrimp, gator gumbo, and beer for 100$. The crabs and oysters were so good. Oysters are only half steamed so perfect. Shrimp could've been slightly less steamed. Our waitress was great and we sat at the dog-friendly table. They were great to the pups. Getting the check was slow at closing time.

We can't stay away from this place. It is soooooo good. Last night we went back again and I. had a half dozen of the Large crabs. Deeeelicious!!! OMG, I would go there for lunch today if I could. My husband tried the "Night at Whorehouse Point platter. It consisted of steamed shrimp, crab and oysters with boiled red potatoes and corn. Everything here is so fresh and delicious. They have grouper on the menu and FL lobster tails. If you go for the crabs get the Large, they sell out quickly. Well worth the little extra cost. Our waiter last night was Chris. Ask for him if you can. He's very knowledgeabe and exceptional service. If you've never had crabs he will give you a quick class in how to do it. You have to try this place!! I recommend you get there by 6:30. They shut the crab pots off at 7:00.

I definitely recommend the fresh catch. Having ordered a grilled mahi sandwich for lunch, the piece of fish was huge. In fact, I actually ended up with a mahi sandwich that included a side of mahi. Sandwich also comes with a mix of fresh tomato/potato and what I think was frozen corn on the cob. Fish to me is simple - it comes out of the ocean tasting good. You just have to get it to the table fresh and not screw it up when you cook it. No fancy seasoning or presentation needed. Just slap a good piece on a roll and I'm happy. PRP&S is the place for that. Wife had the crabcake sandwich and I would not recommend that. Too much filler for this yankee boy.

Food is still good. The service was horrid. The cheap plastic knives and forks are stupid. Would it be too much to ask for a Sam's Club visit for plastic knives that cut. We took friends there to show them the place and were embarrassed.

9/20/2011 My mom and step-dad just moved to the area and we really wanted to find a place to try blue crab.....this was the place to go. Very fresh seafood with a very florida atmosphere. Loved the casual and fun outdoor seating area. Ordered the AYCE blue crab for $20.....very tasty yet the crabs were a little small. The waiter was nice enough to show us how to eat them, but I quickly figured it out....not much different than a dungeoness crab, just a lot smaller. Be prepared....you will be eating these tasty little guys for a while....also, you get a mallet and a knife....and a plastic fork....no plates, just newspaper....and that is as fancy as it gets!!! Nice place with a very Florida presentation!!!

Wonderful seafood. Have been here many times with different people who all loved the food. Service typically good. They have not put much investment in facilities, but if you can handle very casual seating this is a great treat.

Menu was very small. Wasn't too impressed with this place. I had the clam chowder, which I didn't like one bit. Also had the grouper sandwich, the grouper was small. Really expensive as well. My 4 year old daughter had the cheeseburger which I thought was pretty good. Your probably wondering why I gave it an average star rating. Well the rest of my family loved it. My wife had the crab cake, which we both thought was really bad!! But she loved the shrimp. The rest of the people I was with had crabs which they all loved. I would never want to go back to this place. Really surprised they didn't have fried shrimp??

Dont bother the food is very average and the service is awful,,,,,,we waited for over an hour for the mediocre food. Dont get the young waitress maybe thats the problem. I know there are better and more reasonable places to eat at. They ran out of hamburgers and fish dip by 6.00 pm. The local chain restaurants have better food and way better service..........so much for eating local.
